Integrity Unit
Introduction Public Service Department through Circular No. 6 of 2013 made known the Government’s decision to establish Integrity Unit as integrity based management focal point for integrity in all public agencies.
Consequently, the establishment warrant for Integrity Unit of the Ministry was approved on 18 November 2013 and it started operations on February 1, 2014. The Unit is spearheaded by an Investigation Officer Grade P54 which is a Cadre post in the Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). Objective
Ensure Ministry officials have superior working culture with strong moral, ethical values and patriotism spirit.
Curb criminal misconduct, violations of personal code of conduct and organization’s code of ethics among civil servants.
Function
The establishment of Integrity Unit is an internal control measure by the Ministry to inculcate integrity principles within the organization. This Unit is responsible for implementing six (6) core functions as follows:-
Governance
Ensure the best corporate governance principles are implemented.
Strengthening Integrity
Ensure acculturation, institutionalization and implementation of integrity principles within the organization.
Detection and Confirmation
Detect and verify complaints of criminal misconduct and violation of code of conduct and organizational ethics and ensure that appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
Report Criminal misconduct to the law enforcement agencies responsible.
Complaints management
Receive and take action on all complaints / information on criminal misconduct and violations of the code of conduct and ethics of the organization.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in force.
Discipline
Carry out the secretariat duties of the Disciplinary Board.
Complaint Portal For information, Integrity Unit has established new integrity complaint platform through e-Aduan system. Public users can lodge any complaints related misconduct and irregularities committed by any KPDN officers via the e-Aduan system: eaduan.kpdn.gov.my or email: : integriti[at]kpdn.gov.my. Complaints can also be channeled by calling direct line: 03-8882 6625. Informers shall be protected by Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 [Act 711], should they entitled to the said Act.
