The Economics Analysis and Strategic Data Division

Introduction The Economics Analysis and Strategic Data Division (BAED) is responsible for managing the Ministry's strategic data to be analysed in order to provide added value to the Ministry's policy planning, as well as to provide input on economic indicators according to the needs of the Ministry's management. Objective Coordinating, organising and analysing data required by the Ministry. Function The Ministry's data management covers the following;  The administration of the Ministry's data involves the collection, centralization and sharing of data;  Ecosystem development and KPDN Public Data governance; and  The Ministry's Focal Point for Public Sector Open Data (DTSA), Public Sector Data Dictionary (DDSA) and Big Data.   Provide input for those who require data analysis to be used for the purpose of commenting on the Cabinet Memo Commentary Memo (MJM)/ responses to the Dewan Negara/ Dewan Rakyat session/ media statements, interview sessions/ interviews and article writing. Carry out analysis/study to produce output/outcome based on the purpose of the analysis. Coordinate and strengthen the functions of the Data Science Unit through the implementation of competency development training in the field of data science.
